The Center for Community & Family Services, Inc. (CCFS) fulfills its mission of supporting self-sufficiency for individuals and families, and of helping build sustainable communities through the Child Development Program in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. The Child Development Program offers a comprehensive group of support services to families in need. Many of these support services are also offered to families in the cities of Pasadena, and Altadena. These support services include Subsidized Child Development, Nutrition, Resources & Referral Services, Family Resource Center Services, Training & Development, and Community Outreach. The cities served through the Child Development Program are: Compton, Carson, Downey, Harbor City, Lomita, Lynwood, Palos Verdes, Paramount, South Gate, Torrance, Altadena and Pasadena.

Each April, the Child Development Program sponsors The CCFS Children~s Athletic Games & Family Fair and several other community activities which are free to the community. These events and activities help to raise the awareness of good health, and the awareness of the valuable family support services available. They also promote and strengthen families.

The Child Development Program is supported primarily through funding provided by the State of California. Other funding sources include Federal Government sources as well as private funding sources.
