As a California 501(c)( 3) non-profit corporation, CCFS relies heavily on the commitment of volunteers to ensure our mission is met. Each year, over $2 million of donated services, skills and resources guarantee that CCFS~s public funding is augmented with maximum community participation.
Parents donate time and skills to our programs, from assisting teachers in the classroom to organizing events, field trips, conferences and parent training programs. Corporate volunteers donate professional skills, everything from legal and architectural services to assisting with food drives for hungry families.
Our Board of Directors represents a variety of skills and interests including community organizing, education, housing, job training, legal and children~s issues. Other community leaders volunteer on several advisory boards including a Parent Policy Council for Head Start, the annual Compton Children~s Games and other local focus groups helping us to plan for the future.
